A non-assessed training course to reinforce previously acquired knowledge and skills and review tree inspection procedures and compliance with regulatory best practice Course content includes: Develop a systematic and consistent methodology for carrying out visual tree inspections Recognise a range of observable mechanical and biological defects of trees Identify a range of commonly seen pests, diseases and disorders that affect tree safety State appropriate control/remedial measures required to eliminate or reduce risks identified in the tree inspection process Determine when an aerial inspection is required Prioritise tree/management works with time scales and broad category of risk assessment Identify when appropriate to recommend decay detecting or measuring equipment Understand the balance between remedial measures and the range of benefits/values that a tree many have requiring special attention e.g. amenity, wildlife, historical, veteran, rarity, and public access.
